Adding transactions instead of matching them will create duplicate entries. Let's fix this by clearing the duplicate transactions from your For Review tab in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
You have the option to exclude those transactions so you can still have them at a later time or permanently delete them.
Here's how to exclude transactions:
The excluded transactions are listed on the Excluded tab for reference or review.
You may find this article handy to learn more about the process of excluding downloaded transactions in QBO.

I do not have a duplicate bank transaction nor am I adding it manually. The bank transaction happens once. The images associated with that transaction is happening three times. So if I have a bank deposit of $100 with four checks in that deposit the bank transaction comes in as $100 to be reviewed. I have not manually entered a deposit for $100 either, just using the bank feed. The transaction comes through and the deposit slip image as well as the four checks are attached to the transaction, but then if I look in my attachments section, the images of the checks and deposit slip appear two more times each. If I'm in the transaction screen to confirm the bank transaction, the images are attached, but they are showing additionally in the unlinked spot another two times each. If I delete the duplicate images in the attachment screen, the images that are attached to the bank transaction show an error if you click on the link and I no longer have access to the check/deposit slip image in QB.
That behavior is indeed strange, powellptatreasur.

This did not work. I wanted to wait until another bank transaction came through to see if it worked on new items, but another scan of images came through for a past bank transaction again after I cleared the cache so I don't think it fixed it. When I delete a duplicate image, the image attached to the transaction shows an error.

Did you receive a solution in 2022? Today is 2/26/2024, and the problem with duplicate bank attachments of hand-written checks is still a problem. I have reported this to Intuit several weeks ago with no solution from Intuit. Tried again today with no success. Attached is detail of specific examples. If I delete a duplicate bank transaction image, the image is deleted from all duplicate copies.
This is very disappointing. I expect Intuit to do better and repair the bugs in their software.

No. It is not fixed for me. It's actually worse. It's now about four duplicate images per transaction. When a bank transaction used to come in, images associated with that transaction would automatically attach to it. Now it doesn't. I have to attach all images.
To be fair, I didn't call them on this---lack of time.
From Jan Newsome. I am pleased to report that the problem seems to have been resolved by intuit. The problem of duplicate bank attachments of written checks is no longer occurring, Thank you.
Thank you Intuit. It appears that you have solved the problem of duplicate bank images in the Attachments list.
