Buy nowGreetings, Mike! It's fantastic to see your active participation and the effort you've put into sharing your queries. Today, I am here to provide assistance and offer valuable insights regarding the integration between Shopify and QuickBooks Online.
It is important to acknowledge that although Shopify is intended to work seamlessly with QuickBooks Online, there may be occasional instances of compatibility issues or specific configuration requirements that need attention. It is crucial to recognize that QuickBooks relies on the data transmitted by the third-party application, in this case, Shopify.
To address this, I'd suggest contacting Shopify support directly. They possess the necessary knowledge to clarify how data is transmitted and can provide further guidance on any additional steps or workarounds that can be implemented to ensure a seamless synchronization of information from Shopify to QuickBooks Online. Their expertise will prove invaluable in resolving the syncing issue and guaranteeing the accuracy of your data.
Additionally, you may want to verify whether the data that was being transferred was a sale, and not other transactions such as payout, causing some to appear as deposits.
I'm also leaving this article for some guide about the configuration process: Shopify and QuickBooks Online Integration Guide.
Moreover, here's an article that'll help you in case you encounter the most common Shopify issues: Troubleshoot Shopify issues with OneSaas.
I want to ensure that all of your concerns are addressed properly. Should you need any more help with managing your transactions from Shopify into QuickBooks Online, you can always ask your question by hitting the Reply button or starting a new thread. Keep safe and have a great rest of your day.
More details: On the transition drill down report for sales I am shown individual sales receipts for some sales and then deposits as well. Inside some of the deposits the sales that are listed in this report also appear, but not all of them. For example order #2556 will appear as its own line titled "Sales Receipt" but then it may appear inside a Deposit just a few lines down. The total sales appears to add each of these therefore some sales are being accounted for twice. Am I thinking correctly?
Also on the banking tab where there are transactions "For Review" or "Categorized," none of these sales receipts appear there, only the deposits which take the name of my Shopify store appear. Does this all sound right?
Thank you
Hi, Mike. thanks for reaching back with additional details about your concern.
I understand how important it is to have accurate data synchronization between QuickBooks Online and Shopify for maintaining accurate financial records, complying with tax regulations, saving time, and improving overall business efficiency.
In cases where the terms are not appearing correctly, it's important to consider that the integration between the two platforms relies heavily on the information provided by Shopify, as well as the configuration settings in both platforms. That said, discrepancies in the terms could be attributed to so many factors.
One of these is your Shopify configuration. I recommend you double-check the settings within your Shopify account, particularly those related to sales. Ensure that these are correctly configured and aligned with your accounting preferences.
The way data is mapped between Shopify and QuickBooks Online can also affect how terms are displayed. Make sure that the mapping settings are accurate and up to date. You may need to review and adjust the mapping configurations if necessary. By carefully reviewing these aspects, you can often identify the root cause of the issue and correct it accordingly.
If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to the Shopify Support Team for further assistance and to clarify how they send data to QuickBooks.

The Shopify connector is free but not reliable. Consider having a paid connector instead.
