Why do some transactions have a match and others with the same description do not match?

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), there are some reasons your transactions don't match, @steven-velielaw-. Let's go over them so you can keep your account updated.

Once you connect your bank and credit card accounts, QuickBooks automatically downloads your recent transactions. Then, it'll show you a match if you already recorded any similar transaction. If it doesn't recognize or find a match, your transactions may have a different set of information (i.e., date, type, payee, and/or amounts).

To find a match, simply click the downloaded transaction and click the Find match button. If none are correct, select Find other matches to find other possible matches. Then, make sure to select All in the Show drop-down arrow. Also, select the correct span of the date when the transactions are downloaded. Once you find the transaction, check the box and select Save.

Also, I encourage you to reconcile your accounts every month. This way, you can effectively manage your transactions and detect any possible errors accordingly. For the step-by-step guide, you can refer to this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online. It also includes details about reviewing past reconciliations.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to be of assistance. Have a great weekend.
