Why do transaction notifications still show up and turn on even though turned off?

I’ve turned them off after they turned on automatically during some iOS update. I even called support. They turned back on again this morning. What’s going on?

Why do transaction notifications still show up and turn on even though turned off?

Thanks for visiting the Community, @jmschedler.

Let me share some insights about turning on transaction notifications.

Your app's notification settings might have been set to default after the IOS update. Here's how to turn it off:

  1. Open the Settings app on your phone.
  2. Then click on Notifications.
  3. Next, select the app you want to turn off.
  4. Turn off Allow Notifications.

If you'll have any issues with IOS, I suggest reaching out to Apple Support. They can investigate further and give the best possible resolution to your concern.

I'll add these helpful articles about handling reports in QuickBooks:

Please feel free to comment back if you have other concerns with notifications or QuickBooks. I'm always willing to help. Take care always!

Why do transaction notifications still show up and turn on even though turned off?

Not what I want.   I want notifications for my companies invoicing and payments so I don’t want to turn off all notifications.   I called QB and turned off “transaction” notifications for both companies and I still get them.  Somehow they turned back on overnight.  It’s annoying.  It’s different than before so QB had to have screwed up something during an update of the QB and iOS interface is off now somehow.

Hello there, @jmschedler. I've got here additional troubleshooting steps to ensure you can turn off the transaction notifications permanently.

Let's start with refreshing the data of your QBO mobile app. This will help you remove the collected cache in the system that often becomes outdated or corrupted, causing issues when accessing it. Please refer to the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Menu ☰ icon.
  2. Click Help & Feedback
  3. Look for Refresh Data.
  4. Click Refresh.

Once done, turn off the transaction notifications again. Then, close and re-open the app to check if the changes were applied. If the issue persists, I highly recommend reaching out to our Customer Care team to further investigate what's preventing you to turn off the notifications.

In case you'll need helpful links and guides to assist you in doing QuickBooks tasks, you can visit our QuickBooks Help page. From here, you'll find a number of help articles and even video tutorials based on the QuickBooks feature you've searched. You can also bookmark them in your browser for easy access and use them as your future reference.

If you have any QuickBooks-related concerns, don't hesitate to post again here. I'll be always around to help. Have a good one.

Why do transaction notifications still show up and turn on even though turned off?

There is no help and feedback

help only leads to this forum and a chat bot which never helps

The only Feedback I could find is “request new feature”

I can’t believe this is so difficult.   For the $$ spent monthly you’d think I’d get some help without posting on a forum and waiting.   The notifications came up again this morning and BOTH companies have that fetuse turned off.

Why do transaction notifications still show up and turn on even though turned off?

I don’t want to turn on transactional notifications.   I HAVE turned them off but they still appear as a badge on my screen.   This communication method is horrible.   QuickBooks customer service is horrible.   I can’t believe I can’t get help for the $$& I pay to QuickBooks.   Looking at alternatives

Hello??  They is no refresh.  Is this all QuickBooks will do for me?  That’s it?  Reply and offer a solution that doesn’t exist and then disappear and let me fend for myself without any help???

Why do transaction notifications still show up and turn on even though turned off?

Good morning, @jmschedler

Thanks for reaching back out and letting us know what happened.

If you're unable to see the refresh button within the app, then I recommend contacting our Customer Support Team. There's an option to receive a callback and that would be the best route. The reason why you may not be able to see the option is because of our support hours for the phone:

  • Plus, Essentials, Simple Start: M-F 6 AM to 6 PM PT and Saturday 6 AM to 3 PM PT
  • Advanced: Anytime, any day

Be sure to use the steps below within those support hours. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help icon in the top right-hand corner within your QuickBooks Online account. (Web browser)
  2. Tap the Contact Us button.
  3. Give a brief description of the issue and hit Let's talk
  4. Scroll down and select to Get a callback

It's that easy!

Please inform me on how the call goes. It's my priority that you're able to get back to running your business. Happy Friday!
