Why is the bank balance the correct amount, but appears negative as the Quickbooks balance?

Let's work together to fix the difference between your bank and QuickBooks balances to ensure an accurate financial record, Northernauto.

The QuickBooks balance includes all recorded transactions, even those not yet reviewed, while the bank balance only reflects transactions that have been recorded. To fix this, I recommend matching and categorizing your downloaded bank transactions and making necessary corrections to your QuickBooks entries.

Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  3. Select the account you want to review.
  4. Select the For review tab.

Also, we can refer to your bank statement when performing these procedures. You can check this article for detailed instructions: Fix issues for accounts you've reconciled in the past in QuickBooks Online.

Once everything's fine, you might want to check this article I've added and learn how to reconcile your accounts so they always match your bank and credit card statements: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Should you need further assistance managing your bank register, please don't hesitate to add them in the comments. I'd be glad to assist. Have a nice day ahead of you.
