Hello there @tlenzmeier,

I’d love to help get this cleared up for you. Can you share a little more detail so I can make sure we are solving for the right thing? What account or account type are you trying to change? Was this account ever attached to an online bank account?

You may need to report this to our QuickBooks Customer Care Team. They'll be able to further investigate, here’s how:

  1. Click the Help menu in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Contact us under Need support? section.
  3. Go to the first section of the page and select Working with Your Bank > Troubleshooting.
  4. Go to the second section and choose how you want to reach them (phone, email, or chat).

I’ll keep an eye out for your response, let me know if there is any else I can help with too.

Hello,

The account is called "Space Rental." The type is income and the detail type is Service/Fee Income. I don't know how to determine if it was ever attached. Since it is a minor income account, I can't imagine why it would ever have been linked.

Thanks for the quick reply @tlenzmeier,

It doesn't look like that account should be receiving that type of message. I'd recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Care team following the steps above. They can walk through troubleshooting to ensure we get you connected correctly.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'm always here for you.

I got this error as well.  The most frustrating part about this is the account owner should have final say in categorizing an account regardless of any business rules set up through third party banking.  Yet I can't change it and I need to contact support, and it's the weekend.  So here I am unable to move forward, stuck with a stubborn, idiotic accounting software rule that makes NO sense to the end customer.

They're not live on the weekend, even though my monthly bill went up recently, so there's that.

The issue is that QBO won't let me switch the category from Uncategorized Income to Current Liability.  I'll have to reach out to them tomorrow.  This is so frustrating.
