Bulk uploading

I'm currently uploading my sales data, customer receipts, purchases and supplier payments into excel regularly. So, should I have to upload those data into QuickBooks manually or is there any way to upload whole file at once?

Bulk uploading

You'll need to upload the data manually into QuickBooks Online (QBO), Thilina. Let me share the details below.

In QBO, the system is unable to detect the type of transaction when you upload the whole file at once. That said, you'll need to upload them separately based on their respective types.

To import your sales data, such as invoices, customers, and sales items, you can refer to the steps below.

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Import Data.
  2. Choose the type of transaction to import.
  3. Select Browse to choose a file, then Next.
  4. Map your import fields and click Next.
  5. If everything looks good, select Start Import.
  6. Click OK, then Done.

Here's an article for more information about importing data: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.

To upload your customer receipts, purchases, and supplier payments, you can utilize the Batch Transactions feature using QBO Advanced. If you're not subscribed to one, I recommend searching for a compatible third-party app in the App Center.

Here's how to import transactions using the Batch Transactions tool:

  1. Go to + New and select Batch Transactions.
  2. Choose a transaction in the Select Entity Type dropdown.
  3. Select Import CSV/Excel.
  4. Click Browse to upload the file, then Next.
  5. Map the fields and select Next.
  6. Review the details and click Save and Close.

Moreover, you can use classes in QBO to help you categorize transactions effectively, providing insights into your profitability across different segments.

We'll be quick to respond if you need further guidance with managing your transactions. Have a wonderful day ahead.
