Can no longer email invoices from Quickbooks

Up until yesterday I could email invoices from QB's.  Today I am getting a message that says QB's is unable to send emails due to network connection failure.   I have not changed anything.  Any suggestions?

It's great to see you back in the Community! 

 

Some of the possible reasons for connection error are the following:

 

  • Windows firewall and other internet settings are blocking the QuickBooks file to access the required ports.
  • The Network Descriptor (ND) file is missing or corrupted.
  • The hosting computer is in standby or hibernation mode. This may interrupt your connection due to which you cannot access the company files.
  • Your server connection is interrupted.
  • QuickBooks installation files are corrupted.
  • Multiple QuickBooks database service windows are in use.
  • Your QuickBooks company files are damage

 

To get that resolved, you can download and run our QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Tool Hub. This tool help fix problems and errors in QBDT. Here's how: 

 

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Then, save it on your Desktop.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe). Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
  5. From the launch pad, click Network Issues.

I am having the same issue's as well, with the Remittance. It is only doing it to 1 of my vendors. I tried changing and using other email addresses, I called QB techs (no help and still waiting for a follow up call), I tried everything. It is very frustrating.

Since this is a public forum and we do not have visibility to pull up account information, I suggest reaching out to our Customer Support again. They have the necessary tools to access your account securely and provide an update. You can use your previous ticket or case ID, so you do not have to start from scratch.

  1. On your QuickBooks account, go to the Help menu at the top.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help. 
  3. Choose Contact Us. 
  4. Enter the issue or topic in the field box. 
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Can no longer email invoices from Quickbooks

I have used desktop Quickbooks since the early 2000s.  Haven't had any issues until the last several years with upgrades and such.  This particular problem suddenly appeared after a major Windows update.  Hours of Online and Technical support did not help me.  So, after living with this issue for 3 months, I finally figured it out on my own. 

 

Here's my solution :  

I normally use email via Comcast and so I thought maybe the communication between Quickbooks and Comcast might be the issue.  So, I set up Outlook.  I never used Outlook before, mainly due to the annoying visual layout.  Once I setup Outlook, I erased the link within Quickbooks and set it up for Outlook.  That worked! 

Here's the to do list:

Set up Outlook linked with your business email.

Within Quickbooks go to Edit tab.

Then, Preferences.

Then, scroll down to SEND FORMS.

Then, under My Preferences, delete current email.

Add, your normal email address and under email provider, click on Outlook/Hotmail/Live.

That's it.  You are done.  Do a test email out of Quickbooks...It will work!

 

Hopefully this helps anybody who has a similar issue.
