Import QBO File

I am trying to import QBO file I downloaded from by bank. I go to File>Utilities>Import>Web Connect Files> then I select the specific QBO file. I do not see any error message coming but the transactions are not getting imported. How can this be fixed? It used to work well before.

Import QBO File

I appreciate the details and the steps you've taken, @alexget05. I’ll share more information to help you with importing your QBO file into QuickBooks Desktop successfully.

There is a different way of importing your data aside from going through your File menu. Since you’ve already downloaded the files from your bank, let’s try to import them using the Banking page.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu, then select Bank Feeds and Import Web Connect Files.
  2. Select the QBO file you saved, then click Open.
  3. When prompted to Select Bank Account, select:
    • Use an existing QuickBooks account if the account you're importing transactions into is already set up in QuickBooks.
    • Create a new QuickBooks account if the account you're importing transactions into isn't in QuickBooks yet. Learn how to create an account.
  4. Click Continue. You'll see a dialogue box telling you that the data has been successfully read into QuickBooks. Select OK.
  5. Go to the Bank Feeds Center to review your transactions.

If the issue persists, I’d recommend contacting our Support Team. They can access your account in a secure environment and has tools, such as screen sharing, to help you further. I’ll show you how:

  1. Go to the Help menu, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Give a brief description of your issue, then Continue.

Once done, you can pull-up the Profit and Loss reports from both QuickBooks versions (QBDT and QBO). Let’s compare them to determine if the data match. You can also check out this article for the lists and transaction types you can import into the software: Import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop.

Once you have successfully imported your transactions, you can categorize and add or match them to your existing transactions in QuickBooks. Also, you can visit this link if you need some tips on customizing reports, using online banking, managing reconciliation and transactions, payroll, payments, and more: Help articles page.

Comment below if you have other questions or clarification about this. I'll be here if you require further assistance when managing your transactions. Have a good one!
