I understand the manage categories feature on your products and services page is a helpful tool for your everyday business needs. Let me provide you with an update on why it's missing.

 

Currently, we have an open investigation (INV-93960) about your concern. At QuickBooks Online, we always strive to provide excellent service to valued customers. Our Product Engineering team is working hard to resolve this problem immediately.

 

In the meantime, I suggest contacting our Customer Care Support team. This way, they can add you to the list of affected users and notify you once the issue is resolved. Here's how you can contact them:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?).
  3. Select either of these tabs:
  • Assistant tab and select Talk to a human.
  • Search tab and click on Contact Us to connect with a support expert.

 

Please note that support is available for Plus, Essentials, and Simple Start subscribers from Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 6 PM PT, and Saturday, 6 AM to 3 PM PT. However, for Advanced subscribers, support is available 24/7, any day of the week.

My company is frozen with 1600 Products and Services locked up in “inactive”. Can anyone help me see if my external hard drive back up can be used to restore data? I have never done this before and need guidance, which I think I am owed.

A thought:

Can I manipulate my export to remove the category issue and import back into QBO?

 

My thought is to erase all the category destinations from the P&S (MLB Clubhouses:Detroit Tigers changed to Detroit Tigers). Does removing the “:” take out the category hurdle?

Sorry, one more possibility.

 

I never changed my list from sub-items to Categories. Could that be my problem with import/export?
