Desktop 2017

I started with Desktop 2013, upgraded to 2017.  Now that I'm retired, I only use QB for two personal accounts and only for the manual bookkeeping functions.  I have not found a need to ask Intuit for help.  Question:  How long can I expect QBDT 2017 to run these two accounts?  I am reluctant to switch to Windows 11 for fear this will tip the program over.  A switch to DT 2023 or Online is just too expensive for two simple bookkeeping accounts.  I hate to lose the history.  I am happy to run 2017 for ever, if it continues to function.

Desktop 2017

Hi there, Rjon1. Maintaining uninterrupted access to your files within QuickBooks Desktop is crucial for ensuring a seamless process of your manual bookkeeping.

I'm here to provide details about continuously using the 2017 version on your computer without any issues.

QuickBooks Desktop 2017 will continue to function for basic accounting and tasks that don't require an online connection as long as the software computer's operating system is compatible with older versions. To continue using the program and prevent data loss, please refrain from switching to Windows 11, as it requires a 2022 version or higher.

While there's no specific end-of-life date, it'll no longer receive the latest critical security patches or updates. Aside from that, you will not have access to live technical support if you encounter problems.

Additionally, it is recommended to backup your company files so you can restore them when any issues occur. Then, run and customize your financial reports that provide different perspectives on how your business is doing.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about tracking transactions and managing your books. I'm here to answer your queries. Have a good one.

@Rjon1

As long as you can stick with Win 10, you can run QBD 2017 for good.
