Buy nowI work for a German company & I'm based in a satellite office in U.S. Germany uses SAP & I do all the accounting functions in that ERP system. Now we are looking to interface QuickBooks with SAP for reports & Invoicing etc. Do you know if this can be done.
Do you need to mirror data from QB Desktop to SAP automatically or just export data manually?
Yes, I need to mirror data automatically. Right now I'm manually doing it. That works to a point but there is a lot of errors etc. I manually upload the Invoices & payments, & reports.
It's great to hear that you're proactively seeking ways to enhance the flow of data and processes between your U.S. satellite office and your German headquarters, @vogelkel. I understand how managing financial tasks across two systems can become a challenge, especially when you need consolidated reports or want to streamline invoicing.
QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) and SAP operate independently, and while integration is possible, it typically depends on third-party tools or services that act as a bridge between the two systems. Since SAP is an ERP system, you may want to start by contacting their support team to see if they offer connectors and guidance for integrating with QuickBooks.
On another note, the American version of QBDT is specifically designed to meet the accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements for local businesses. It includes features, forms, and workflows tailored for sales tax calculations and reporting standards based on U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). With this, differences in tax handling and accounting standards are carefully taken into consideration.
To get started, you can download the QBDT user guide to explore ways to streamline reporting and invoicing functions between QBDT and SAP: Get started with QuickBooks.
If you’d like to discuss integration options in more detail or have specific questions about your workflow, feel free to reply below. I’d be happy to help you find a solution that meets your needs.
If your goal is to combine transaction data between the two platforms to generate reports, using a BI application is more suitable for your needs. You should explore Zoho.
But if you still prefer to mirror data, you will need a 3rd party connector. Contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA directly via email and they can help you.
