Hi there, Don.
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your concern with assembly items not appearing in the drop-down list on your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) invoice.
To resolve this, please follow these steps:
Verify Item List Settings:
Ensure that your assembly items are set up correctly in your Item List. In QuickBooks Desktop, go to the Lists menu and select Item List. Look for your assembly items and make sure they are marked as Assembly items and are active.
Check the Assembly Items:
Ensure that all the components of your assembly items are available and set up properly in QuickBooks. Each component must be active and not marked as discontinued.
Rebuild Data Utility:
If the issue persists, you can verify and rebuild your data. This tool is designed to resolve issues within the file data. To use this tool, go to File, then Utilities, and select Rebuild Data. You can check this article to learn more about the steps in verifying and rebuilding your data: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.
If there aren't enough products built yet, you can create sales orders to track backorders. Once you have enough products to sell to a customer, turn the sales order into an invoice.
Feel free to leave a reply if you have additional concerns besides missing assembly items in your invoice line items. I'd gladly help you anytime.
