Mass updates of specific field in customer list

My client has a customer list of about 300 customers. I keep information in the "Other" field in each customer profile. This information is updated periodically throughout the year, and I am looking for a quick way to get this field updated in each customer's Details Tab. I have looked at some articles and read that this field is not included in import/export functions. I really prefer not to subscribe to a third party app to accomplish this update for just one entity; I really dislike having to stop mid-task and go shopping.

I am looking for input from members who can give personal input rather than regurgitate something I have already read online. If this task is impossible to perform in any manner expect one-at-a-time edits, then I would hope engineering would improve their Excel import/export functions or get a tool that makes multiple changes at once like the desktop version can.

Mass updates of specific field in customer list

I can see that being able to make changes to multiple customers would save time, Yogi.

As you may have read from the threads that you visited, we're unable to do this in QBO. For now, you'll need to go to each customer profile and edit the information in the Other field.

Let me route you to this article in case you need a guide on how to update the details: Edit Customer Information

You can also directly send feedback or submit a feature request to our product engineers. You can do it directly from your QBO account. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
  2. Type in your feedback and suggestions about the advertisements in QBO.
  3. Click Next to submit them.

You can visit the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website to see the list or track the submitted feature requests.

I will also be sharing these articles with you for more references when managing customer information:

Please get back here and post more questions in the Community if you need anything else. We'd be glad to help you all the time.

Thanks for your quick response. I will continue to submit feedback, as I always have, through my QuickBooks Online account. I hope someday that QBO becomes as flexible and versatile as desktop, ther version which is preferred by more than 80% of my clients.
