qbo backup

New to QBO Advanced and want to schedule a nightly backup.

I did a complete back up which shows as completed and has a 'finished at' date:time as well as an 'expiring at' date:time.  When I select view, I see all sorts of information.

It new shows additional backups, dated in week intervals. No 'finished at' or 'expiring at' and I see a 'clock' at the status.  However, they each say 'complete'.  When I select view, I see nothing additional.

So I don't think they are working.

How can I schedule nightly backups?

Please and thank you,

Bob

Hello there, Bob. I understand how beneficial it is for your business.

Currently, the feature to schedule a nightly backup is unavailable in QuickBooks Online Advanced. If you want this to be added, I recommend sending feedback directly to our engineers and may consider implementing them in future updates.

Here's how to submit feedback to QBO:

  1. Select Settings, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Then select Next to submit feedback.

Once submitted, you can track your feature request through QBO Feature Requests website.

In addition, I've added this article for you to get started and adjust settings after you sign up for QBO.

Thanks for your response, IrishNinoJ;

I expect that your suggestion I provide Feedback is in reference to my desire to do nightly backups.

I'll follow up on that.

The other, more immediate need, is the portion of my posting (I probably should have posted it seperately):

"I did a complete back up which shows as completed and has a 'finished at' date:time as well as an 'expiring at' date:time.  When I select view, I see all sorts of information.

So I don't think they are working."

Did these work?

Thanks for your help

I appreciate the screenshot you provided, Bob. Let me assist you in handling company backups in QuickBooks Online Advanced.

Those additional backups you see dated in week intervals are signs that the backup is complete. We also run full backups daily and incremental backups every few hours, which is why a scheduled backup feature isn't available. Those backups that have Start and Finish indications are backups you manually processed. If you want to view those additional backups, you'll need to restore them first.

You can restore your company file to a previous state at any time by heading to the Restore page on the left menu. However, if you restore a previous company file, you might lose some data created after that date.

Furthermore, you can learn how to create a copy of your QuickBooks Online Advanced company and use it to start a new one.

Let me know if you have further concerns about backing up company file in QuickBooks Online Advanced. I'm always here to assist you.
