I have set up recurring templates for tasks I do daily: sales invoice, a daily deposit and a transfer between accounts. It is frustrating to have to answer each time that I do not want to save the changes to the original template. After all, one of the main purposes of a template is it use it so that you just change the figures. Is there some way I have missed to do this so I am not asked each day if I want to save these changes to the original template? To me it is a redundant question. If I want to change the template I would edit the template itself.
Hey there, @bodhizmum!
I hear you and see how important it is to do our daily tasks as efficiently as possible with the help of recurring templates.
One reason why you're seeing a prompt every time you try to use the templates is the browser's cache build-up. I have some tips I'd like to share to fix the issue.
In this case, you can perform basic troubleshooting. You can start by clearing your browser's cache and cookies, as sometimes these block web pages from loading. Also, adding Intuit as a trusted site prevents your browser from blocking site content. Lastly, you can use other supported browsers. Just make sure you update them to the most recent versions.
If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our phone or chat support to investigate further.

I use Safari browser--always the most updated version. I cleared the cache, history and cookies, shut down the browser, restarted and tried to enter a new sales receipt and save it. I still got the same popup to make changes to template or one time only. The other disconcerting thing is that the popup is a different layout and color scheme for at least three different template types: sales receipt, transfer and deposit all have a different layout and color scheme for essentially the same popup. This could be so much easier if they simply included a check box that said, "Don't ask me this again." Again, the whole idea of creating a template if for multiple uses. The way to make a change to a template is to edit the template or recurring transaction, not ask the person everyday if they want to change it.
I attempted to add intuit as a 'trusted site' as you mentioned but in the latest version of Safari that is not an option...at least not in the way the directions you linked to.
I understand your challenges when trying to make changes on your template, @bodhizmum.
The One time only or the Update for all prompt message will only appear if you have changed the following fields when using the recurring templates:

I appreciate your idea regarding the Don't ask me this again tick box. Let's send this as feedback to our Product Developers for future updates.

Each day I do a Sales Receipt with 4 products and services each day. Obviously the amount changes each day. Same with a transfer I do each day--accounts remain the same but amount changes...so basically you are saying that because the amount changes each day I will always have to answer the question to not update template because the amount changes daily...again, that defeats the purpose of a template for recurring transactions. I know it works fine for amounts that stay the same that I have auto-added but to truly make templates valuable they need to be able to be used without the daily prompts.
Hi there, @bodhizmum.
I agree that the goal of recurring transaction templates is to save time for repetitive data entry. The inconvenience of continuously receiving prompts when creating sales receipts with four products and services disturbs your momentum during work. I'm here to help you submit feedback to our Developers regarding this matter.
We aim to provide quality service to our users. Your comfort with our product is important to us. With this, I recommend sharing the idea of removing prompt messages to our Product Developers. They can review and consider them for future updates depending on the number of users' requests.
