Scan Manager discontinuation

Our business uses the Scan feature all of the time.  We are very disappointed it was discontinued with the 2022 version. The mobile app is not efficient at all. The scan manager needs to be brought back.  The app is not convenient when scanning several pages.  Not all businesses can allow for android based applications. When attaching documents from the computer that involves extra steps and additional storage needed. Please allow for the Scan feature to continue being used.

Kinda sucks that I already purchased the updated 2022, (being forced to update from 2019) and only found out about Scan Manager being discontinued AFTER the fact!   Why would they discontinue and instead only use Mobile App?  Our business would NEVER use a mobile app to upload documents and we use it to attach documents to our invoicing. 

QB needs to fix this in an update!!!

I understand how important it is to your business, and I'll share some information why our product developers discontinue this feature, @PPS26.

 

Some customers may have requested to use the mobile app since we're adapting the digital world. This also implies that a number of customers prefer to use the mobile app to upload documents to the system using a mobile device.

 

Since this is important to your business, I recommend submitting feedback online to request and continue the Scan Manager feature. This will help our product developers know that this is crucial to you and other users.

 

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu and then select Send Feedback Online.
  2. Hit Product Suggestions.
  3. Enter your feedback and suggestion to continue using the Scan Manager.
  4. Then Submit your request.

 

While the Scan Manager feature is unavailable, you can also resume attaching your documents using the mobile app. I know that it takes time and extra steps, but it's the best alternative we can offer for the current state.

I feel like they think we are dinosaurs because we want to keep the scanning function.

We have put in our request through the software.

I am not going to pretend to know the Intuit audience better than they do, but I am wondering why we have to always lose something that works, to get a downgrade, or another function.

There was an example in one of the good YouTube training videos, by a very knowledgeable person, that illustrated it perfectly.

He gave lengthy instructions on how to use a pivot table creation to put a report together in QB online.

After numerous steps, he then stated it was the same as one of the Summary reports in QB Desktop. 

I add this is a report you can get in one click.

Also, how is this going to work for medical people?  I have clients in that profession that are surely not going to allow documents to be added by mobile app.

I realize you can still do it, outside of the software, but my question is why do have have to lose on for the other?

Yes I was bothered by Intuit discontinuing Scan Manager without warning.  Having lost Scan Manager adds much inefficiency to our process of attaching scanned documents to our QB records.  We decided to leave the platform for a variety of reasons but notably because the losing Scan Manager.  It pisses me off that Intuit did this without warning and for about a year now hasn't yet brought it back.  They could bring it back if they wanted but those users who have complained evidently don't matter enough for them to do it quickly.

A huge mistake to discontinue scan master. It was a real time saver. Using smart phone to attach images is bad. Put scan master back in Version 2022.  Why would you discontinue such a good and widely used feature?

 Had I realized Scan Manager had been discontinued I would not have upgraded.  This has caused much inefficiency in our process of attaching pdf copies of our vendor invoices to the QB record.  Put Scan Manager back.  Can you see all the angry posts? This is one of the best features in QBs.  Why take that away!

I have used QuickBooks since 1995, obviously I like working with the software.  Discontinuing the scanning feature in the attach document section is very disappointing.  I work with multiple companies and attaching documents through your mobile device is inefficient and confusing.  I agree with others, it is disappointing to transfer your company files to a new version and then find out it has major changes from previous versions.

I have learned to work with QuickBooks online, but until it becomes as robust as the desktop version I have clients that it simply does not work for.   One of the features that I do not like about QBO is that you cannot directly scan into the transaction.  Unfortunately instead of making online better incorporating the better features of desktop they are making desktop worse by incorporating features from online.

This is BS!! I absolutely have to scan documents to each invoice I send out for the State!! They also have to be on pdf format. Why would you screw up something what was not broken!!

Just finished my update today. I'm really not sure what to say - they could have just added the mobile option and left the Scan Manager. We also scan hundreds of documents. We are growing - so I will be looking for a different software.

You have our backs, really??  Completely useless information to any Company that uses Scan Manager as we all do.  No one at Quickbooks seems to get it.  Scan Manager is a must when you do hundreds of transactions in a day that require attachments sent by email.  Taking Scan Manager from the program was the worst upgrade ever. Does the phrase dinosaur era register??.  I'm paying dearly for a yearly upgraded program that will never go further than Enterprise 2021. I'm plainly pissed off at the lack of customer care and the bad responses that keep getting posted to this thread.  GIVE BACK THE SCAN MANAGER so we can all upgrade our systems to 2022 which we all paid for and get back to business and not worry about getting new software.

Word to the wise. Do NOT upgrade past 2020 on Quickbooks Enterprise. the upgrade removed the proper flow of business: Purchase Order, Receive Items, Pay Bills Against Purchase Orders that have been received.

You can no longer pay bills against PO's. It leaves them open forever and ever. If you pull up an old purchase order to see if it has been billed against and closed. GOOD LUCK

We have called them since the first of 2021 when they first screwed everything up and as of June 2022, they still have not fixed the issue. INTUIT/QBOOKS DOES NOT CARE.

Move on to real software with Real Customer Service

They keep saying, Submit Feed Back, Submit Feed Back, Submit Feed Back. Is it that they cannot read the English language or are they just that ignorant. I have seen massive feed back on this forum, yet they do not consider it as feedback.  Their employees do not have enough education to take what is submitted here and send it up the line and make sure it gets fixed.

They keep feeding us this nonsense about people wanting an app feature? In 2022 in the United States of America, are we so un-intelligent that we cannot make the scan manager and the app work with the same software? WOW

I think I filed one of the first complaints on this issue and have watched intently for some kind of response from QB other than submit feedback(which I have done). Very frustrating. I'm riding 2021 for as long as I can then I'm going to have to change because I don't think they will.

This is totally wrong, we used quickbooks since 2004 and will now be forced to change, we need to scan a lot of documents and don't have time to take a picture, crop it and save the picture,  I guess quickbooks doesn't understand the working American
