I understand that using phones to scan documents is inconvenient to you and your employees, unapprove a time sheet.
You feel unfair and want the scan feature to be available again to all as this benefit your company's daily transactions. You may not like the Attach documents to transactions option. However, this is the available feature to use right now.
Rest assured, I'm taking notes and sending your details to our Management Team and have them escalate your feedback. I also want you to send a product request about the scan feature. Our Product Team may consider bringing this option back to the system. You can send it via this link: Send feedback.

Thanks for your post but you appear to be a newbie to QBDT. The missing scan feature within the program has been a big issue with us users from the day we upgraded to version 2022. QB should bring back the Scan Manager function as soon as possible but don't expect a "thank you". Rather you owe us an appology for having removed the feature without warning causing a huge collective disruption to your customers. Seriously, whoever made that call in the first place should have been releived of duty.
@lordway1 I am so with you on the being relieved of duty - been thinking that for the last year, but then again, what about the higher ups that approved that move. QB is so far removed from 'boots on the ground'
I'd happily volunteer to beta test all their changes before they roll them out and tell them, from a user's point of view, don't take that feature away...
Trust me this is strategically aimed at pulling us all away from hanging on to our desktop versions, so they can get us all rolled in to that unsafe place of 'your data is in the cloud'.
Klent, please don't propagate bad information. Those of us who follow this closely have been taking those steps for feedback on a regular basis, know that this particular topic has been ignored. To suggest that submitting the complaint will make a difference is placating and insulting.
While I get that the main 3rd party company that owned the scan portion of Quickbooks is no longer doing this function, it is ridiculous that Intuit is ignoring the outcry of the dissatisfaction with the only new mobile choice and are not communicating with this community to assure us that they realize how significant an oversight it is by assuming that large volume document scanning can be accomplished in this manner.
If the 2023 version of Quickbooks does not address volume scanning-we will continue to use 2021 and in all likelihood find another solution once that version is no longer supported (which, by they way---it isn't even now!!! As if I call in for any support--that I pay for annually--I am told, " Sorry, we can't do anything about that" and that ends the discusssion. So please, pass along to your boss, that you are getting pushback on the canned answer of "submit a suggestion", as from all I can see, it falls into FILE 13 and is ignored.
I would imagine it was removed, because Nuance no longer supports the software (the developer)
This might be a good opportunity for those with legal holding to the software to make a mint in bringing it back! I wouldn't be opposed to a MRC for it to work again!
Well written response! Informative too. QB doesn't peel back the onion much for us to know why Scan Manager was removed in the first place. Your mention of a 3rd party makes sense. Maybe Intuit screwed up on that contract and we the customers got screwed because they couldn't get along?
I will not upgrade to QuickBooks 2022 because it will twice the time to upload documents in QuickBooks. Intuit completely destroyed QB functionality by taking away the scanner interface. I will stick with my QuickBooks 2021 Enterprise edition.
Story time: I had a phone call from someone from Intuit taking a survey. Mind you--I've used QB since it was a DOS program so I've been at it for 3 decades. They asked me my opinion, so you better believe the floodgate of complaints about removing such a vital feature as scanning opened up and I let loose.
Surveyor promised to look into whether or not the feature is restored in 2023 version and get back to me, but I'd be willing to take bets (and win) that I'm not going to get a call back.
. I did mention that taking away that feature without checking with people who actually do the work was reason to consider other accounting software. I can only hope, but sincerely doubt, that I was heard.
PS whoever heard of an improvement being taking away a feature - on what planet do the engineers dwell?
Thanks for giving Intuit that feedback. However, like you, I doubt they will take any quick action. I expect they will eventually put back the scan function unless I'm just not seeing how not fixing the problem is in their best interest. The current situation certainly presents an opportunity for another company with a better product.
I agree with you totally. I do not feel into it cares about their corporate customers. I am working on finding new software.
I am installing '23 as we speak...stay tuned. I have no high hopes, and am wondering what else they took away
Please keep us all posted about '23!
Thanks, Dana
Intuit just sent me an offer to upgrade my QB to 2023 (because I am using Dimond edition enterprise).
2023 does not have scanning capabilities. It is the same as in 2022.
Looks like Intuit has no plans to bring back the scanning function. I will stick with 2021 or move to different accounting software.

Hopefully 2023 works out for you, but I would have advised waiting 1-2 months at least. We are moving to another platform. We fought to stay with QB for many years but the removal of Scan Manage without warning took the fight out of us. It is a shame when you have invested years in the product to then have them "pull the rug out from underneath you" for no apparent good reason.
we will change to another software, quickbooks has no idea how much time it takes to attach multiple documents.
Can you other former quickbooks peole recommend another software that is more user friendly
My current solution is scanning everything into a pdf on our server, then only attaching the most important items. Time consuming, but less so than trying to switch at the moment
I do not believe another companies name is allowed on here. I had asked before.
I totally agree with you. I have used QuickBooks for 20 years and the discontinuation of skin manager was the last straw for me. It is no longer a functional program for my corporation.
I was bombing them every day for a while and it obliviously is not being considered or even looked at. I was truly hoping that they were going to realize their mistake and correct it in 2023 but I see that 2023 does not have the scan manager again. If people are switching to another platform I'd love to hear what they are going to. I have been with quickbooks since 2008 but I am seriously considering switching due to this.
Quickbooks 23 doe NOT have scan manager again! The writing is on the wall
I could see them adding the mobile scanning as an option, but who gets rid of a function that many of us use on a constant basis. Thank god I beta tested 2022 before upgrading so I am still on 2021 until they correct or discontinue it at which point I will be switching software companies.
Suggest you first develop a user requirement specification (URS) which are a fancy words for listing the system features that you want the software to have. Internal scanning of documents to the accounting records being high on the list. Then start calling the competing companies. I like NetSuite.

and be prepared that you may purchase a third-party conversion service. I can recommend one if required.
