What is "time frame"? Past 60 days for your QBO account or else?

Transferring Data after a a year plus from Desktop to Online.

Your interest in transitioning to QuickBooks Online (QBO) is appreciated, DarkHorse1952. I'd be happy to discuss the process of transferring your data from QuickBooks Desktop to QBO in detail.

Once the 60-day window to create your QBO account has passed, the migration tool will be deactivated. Alternatively, you can reach out to the QuickBooks Online Support team to sign up for a new online account or request an extension of the date. Once authorized, or whichever the case may be, we can move forward with transferring your data to QBO.

The process begins with exporting your company file using the steps provided below:

  1. Sign in as an admin for the company file.
  2. Go to Company, then select Export Your Company File to QuickBooks Online.
  3. Click Get started.
  4. Sign in as an admin to your QuickBooks Online company.
  5. Select Choose online company, and choose the company you want to replace with your company file.
  6. Hit Continue.
  7. If you track inventory in QuickBooks Desktop:
    • Select Yes to bring them over, then enter the as-of date.
    • Note: Use the first day after your last tax filing period as your inventory start date.
    • Select No if you want to set up new items later in QuickBooks Online.
  8. Enter Agree in the text field, then select Replace.
  9. Choose Yes, go ahead and replace the data, then click Replace.

For a comprehensive understanding of the process, I recommend referring to this article: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you can check out this article for additional information on moving data from QuickBooks Desktop to QBO: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

If you have more questions about other migration-related concerns to QuickBooks Online, please don't hesitate to share them with me. I'm more than willing to assist you further. Have a pleasant day!
