2023 QB Desktop fails to deduct Medicare and Social Security on restaurant servers' checks

QB has not deducted SS and Medicare on servers' checks.  Other non-tipped employees are computed correctly.

I did a dummy check for a terminated employee prior to July, and all is well.

The servers that do not have taxes deducted have been employed all year.

I added a dummy employee today and taxes computed properly.

I changed the server hours to kitchen hours and took off tips and no taxes deducted.

QB support had me update PR, QB, check employee payroll taxes, etc. for over and hour and nothing.

2023 QB Desktop fails to deduct Medicare and Social Security on restaurant servers' checks

I did contact support again.  I wanted to install 2024 and I did not see it on my QBA dashboard.  I wanted to see if moving to 2024 would solve my issue.

I discussed it with her, and she looked at my situation.  She said my tables were suspended and she would get them back online.  She said issue was fixed and she then transferred me to a QBA rep to change the status of payroll.  The rep I talked to said it was fine. Nothing needs to be changed now.

I tried to do another sample payroll, and the issue was not fixed.  The last rep tried again to fix it but to no avail.

The reason to move from 2023 to 2024 was to see if that would fix issue.  It did not.  Still not taking out social or Medicare.  Their annual salary runs between 30,000 and 50,000.

I have a payroll Monday and I will see what happens.  If it does not take out social or Medicare I will input manually.

I have spent about 4 hours on the phone with support and I do have time today.
