401 (a) Retirement Contributions

We have a defined benefit plan (CALPERS, PEPRA) 401(a). While setting up retirement contributions, it is not listed. What do I do when QB's retirement plans do not match what we have for deductions?

401 (a) Retirement Contributions

Thanks for posting in the Community forum, @willitsfire.

At this time, there's no option to set up Calpers, Pepra, 401(a) for a retirement plan in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). I recommend checking with your accountant for further advice on handling this matter.

In the meantime, to know more about setting up a retirement plan deduction or a company contribution in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll to track and tax it appropriately, you can visit this article: Set up a retirement plan.

Also, you'll want to run other payroll-related reports that can help you review payroll transactions:

Please let me know if there is anything else that I can do for you concerning payroll. I'll be here every step of the way. Have a great day.
