941 form filing

somehow my Q1 2023 payroll tax reports were never created or sent to the government. Is there a way to go back now and create them and turn them in?

941 form filing

Filing your Form 941 Quarterly Payroll taxes is crucial to staying compliant with your business tax obligations, @UBW Skiles. I'll explain the details below to help you file these forms.

By default, QuickBooks Online (QBO) follows the current year when filing payroll taxes. Therefore, the feature to file late payroll taxes, such as Form 941, is currently unavailable. You will need to file it outside of the program.

As the form you'll submit is from the previous year, I recommend finding the form with the correct revision date on the IRS: Prior Year Forms and Instructions page.

Once you have the form, you can run your payroll reports and filter them to the desired year to get the necessary details to fill in the form.

Since this is a late filing, I recommend contacting the IRS or visiting their webpage for more details about the process.

In addition, I want to provide you with some extra resources for managing your payroll taxes in QBO:

Feel free to reach out whenever you require assistance when managing your payroll taxes and other tasks in QBO. We are here and ready to support you whenever needed. Have a great day!
