Thanks for sharing your concerns about connecting your AMEX credit card to QuickBooks Online. I'll be your guide today.
First off, we'll need to create an American Express account in QuickBooks. Here's how:
Once done, let's connect it to QuickBook as you did. If the system gives you an error code, learn more about how to fix specific bank errors outline in Step 4 in this help article: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.
If the system tells you to contact your bank, I'd suggest you reach out to their support to verify the error or check if they have a maintenance issue.
Here's a great article that can guide you on what to do if you're unable to find your credit card account when connecting to online banking.
Feel free to message again if you have additional concerns. I'm always around here to be your QuickBooks guide.
Hi there, @jeff152.
Hope you’re doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about your banking concern you had yesterday. Was it resolved?
Do you need any additional help or clarification? If you do, just let me know. I’d be happy to help you at any time.
Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead!
Hi,
Unfortunately my issue was not resolved. Does QuickBooks offer technical support?
I'd really like to speak to somebody on the telephone. This back and forth via discussion forums is rather inefficient.
As you can see in the attached screen capture, there is no option for connecting my credit card, as per the terrible instructions located here: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/chart-of-accounts/connect-bank-and-credit-card-acc...
"
This software is garbage. I recommend that everybody steer clear of QuickBooks online if they want accounting software that will download transactions from American Express.
I want to ensure this is taken care of, @jeff152.
Since the issue persists after following the steps above, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Support Team. This way, they can pull up your account securely and help check the issue.
Here's how:
1. Select Help (?) at the top right.
2. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
3. Select Contact Us to connect with a live support agent.
4. Choose a way to connect with us:
• Start a chat with a support expert.
