In QuickBooks Online (QBO), your employee can add a PDF attachment in the Documents tab of their profile only when they've been invited to QuickBooks Workforce.
Adding attachments to other payroll records in your QBO account is currently unavailable. For reference, check out this article: Add or delete attachments in QuickBooks Online.
We'd love to hear your insights on this so I recommend sending feedback to our product developers. Rest assured that they will review all submitted requests and consider adding them to future updates. Here's how:
- In your QBO account, select the Gear icon.
- From there, choose Feedback.
- Enter your comments and suggestions in the box and click Next.

Once submitted, feel free to visit our QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website to check your feedback.
