Hi there, @dan186.
Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing the specific report that you can pull up so you'll be able to see the total wages of your employee.
Let's pull up the Payroll Summary report and change the date range of this report to show the employees that were paid. These are the steps to follow:
To know more about the Payroll reports that you can run in QuickBooks: Run payroll reports.
I've also included this helpful article for other ways to pull up and customize any of your payroll reports: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.
Keep me updated in the comments if you have any other questions. I'll be here to lend a hand. Stay safe!
Unfortunately, this doesn't work for several reasons:
1) it reports by pay period, not by year
2) the "customization" does not allow it to report by full year at a time
3) the custom date feature does not allow you to put a date in. It makes you click back by month and I need to go back 7 years. So...clicking by month for 7 years (you know the rest).
I'm looking for a report that allows me to see that employee x made 10k in year 1, 12k in year 2, 14k in year 3, etc. Then, I'm looking for that to show it by employee. It would seem that a payroll software would allow for previous year reporting (by year) for employees without having to dig through paystubs or W2's. Even if it cold summarize W2 data by year in a report, that would be helpfu.
Good morning, @dan186.
Thanks for reaching back out and telling us how running that report went. I can point you in the right direction to get this resolved.
The best route would be to contact our Customer Support Team so they can take a further look with you. They'll be able to use a screen share tool to help walk you through some of the other reports to see which one fits best for your business. Here's how:
It's that easy!
We're always here to have your back. Please let us know how the call goes. Have a great day!
