Can I turn off the Class option? Class is available in QuickBooks time records for some employees, but we do not use classes in QuickBooks.

I have verified that the QuickBooks Class option is not selected and have synced data with QuickBooks time, but the class option still exists on some time records, not all. This seems to be something new.

The option to turn off the Class field in QuickBooks (QB) Time is currently unavailable, Licia.

The Class is a default field in QB Time, which is why it still shows on some time entries even if you have confirmed that Class tracking is turned off in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Since some of your time entries show a Class assigned, we can manually remove them for those specific employees by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Time account
  2. Navigate to Time Entries.
  3. Click the Pencil icon for the specific employee with the assigned Class.

  4. Select (none) to remove the assigned class.

  5. Once done, click Save.

To prevent classes from being assigned moving forward, please also check your QB Time custom fields:

  1. Go to My Team.
  2. Click on the Custom Fields.
  3. Under the Field column, ensure the Class field is set to None.

  4. Click Save.

Lastly, you can check out this article to ensure your team has appropriate permissions to track time while maintaining data security and accuracy: Manage team member settings and permissions in QuickBooks Time.
