There are two possible scenarios we can check to account for the differences between your tax details and the transaction info in your QBSE account. I'd be glad to assist you with this.
The first thing to consider is if the Tax details and Tax summary reports don't cover the same report date period as your transactions on the Transactions page. For this, I recommend ensuring they cover the same report date period.
Second, is whether the imported December 2023 transactions were categorized and if there are duplicate entries since the tax summary relies on properly categorized transactions to calculate taxable income and deductible expenses. Uncategorized transactions won’t be included in these calculations, and duplicate transactions can cause double counting of deductions. You can follow these steps to review these transactions:
- Go to the Transactions page in your QBSE.
- Click on the Type filter tab.
- Select Unreviewed and uncategorized.
- Filter the Account and Date to match the date on the tax details page.
- Categorize transactions and locate any duplicate entries.
