Can't run payroll for employees. Anyone else having this problem?

It's my priority for you to run payroll working in QuickBooks Online (QBO), tsieja.

Our teams have resolved the issue and customers should now be able to run payroll. Here's how to create employee's paycheck:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, then select Employees.
  2. Select the dropdown, and choose one of the following options: Bonus only, Commission only, or Fringe benefits only.
  3. Choose As net pay or As gross pay.
  4. Enter any info about taxes or paycheck calculations (if applicable).
  5. Choose or review the QuickBooks bank account to track your payroll, the pay period, and the pay date.
  6. Select the employees you'd like to pay.
  7. Enter hours, compensation, memos, or any other paycheck info as necessary.
  8. Click Preview payroll.
  9. Hit Preview payroll detailsSave for later, or Submit payroll.
  10. Confirm the amounts and payment methods and press Finish Payroll.

Here's an article you can refer to for more details about creating and running your payroll. If the same thing happens, sign in to QBO using a private or incognito window to help us confirm browser-related issues. Here's how:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. Removing this should fix the issue since the overtime collection of data can create corruption. We can also use supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.

If you are trying to access QBO with more than one browser tab simultaneously, you'll encounter a page not responding to the application separately in the additional tabs. Here's the correct way to work in more than one tab:

  1. While signing into QuickBooks Online in one tab, go to the browser address bar.
  2. Highlight then copy the entire web address.
  3. Open a new browser tab.
  4. Paste the web address into the new tab then press Enter. The home page of your company will now load in the new tab.

To see and print your pay stubs online, you can check out this article for the steps and details: View your pay stubs, time off, and year-to-date pay in QuickBooks Workforce. I've got a link here that provides you with articles about managing your payroll: Pay employees, enter timesheets, and send payroll forms.

Keep me posted if you need a hand with running payroll reports or any QBO related. I'll be here to help. Have a great day ahead.
