Can't send direct deposit message code 2017

Hello there, @upacreek. I'll be glad to help you get rid of this error message.

QuickBooks error 2107 is associated with transferring salary to the employee's bank account using the Direct Deposit method. This error typically occurs for the reasons listed below:

  • General issues with the internet connection and a poor security certificate
  • Settings for personal firewall software and internet security
  • System date and time properties are incorrect.
  • Multi-user transmission
  • QuickBooks Desktop is unable to connect to the server due to a network timeout.

To isolate this issue, restart your computer and start afresh. Check your system's time and date settings accordingly. You may need to update them if they are not correctly set up. After that, make sure your QuickBooks Desktop and payroll tax table are up-to-date. It allows you to have the most recent security updates and issue fixes. Then, double-check the direct deposit information and try sending it again.

If the issue persists after your troubleshooting efforts, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Live Support Team. They can initiate a screen-sharing session to help you further and may create a case for this issue if necessary.

If you want to keep track of your employees' expenses and learn to manage your payroll, please see this article as your reference: Customize payroll and employee reports.
