Yes, you can correct a payroll category, ALM555. I'm here to walk you through the process.

 

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu.
  2. Select Employees.
  3. Locate the name of your employee, then click to open.
  4. On the How much do you pay [Name of the employee] section, click the pencil icon.
  5. Place a checkmark in the Vacation Pay checkbox and then enter the necessary information.
  6. Click OK, then Done.
  7. After that, click Done again.

Please note that when you create paychecks, these pay types will appear in the menu. All you need to do is select them.

This only adds a category and does not allow you to correct a previously categorized payroll entry!

I know how important to have an accurate entry. And we appreciate you for bringing this concern to the Community.


Since it's already processed, you’ll need to reach out to our Payroll support team to correct the payroll category. They have tools that can help modify the entry to ensure it is classified accordingly in the system. Here are the steps to contact them:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Click the Help menu.
  3. Hit the Contact Us button.
  4. Enter your brief concern in the box.
  5. Hit Let's talk.
  6. Choose to Get a callback.

For the new Help menu or QB Assistant:

 

  1. On the QB Assistant window, type Talk to a human.
  2. Select or type I still need a human.
  3. Type it again until you see a shortcut to connect with a humans option.
  4. Click the Contact us link to connect with them.

I have included a list of payroll reports here. This way, you can keep track of your payroll entries by making sure details are all accurate. You can also customize them to focus on the specific information you need.
