Changing from every 2 weeks to semi monthly pay cycle and the new PP is not recognizing the last PP end date. It has a PP date starting during time that was already pd.

Last paycheck (every 2 wks) was 12/22 (PP ending 12/17).  The next pay check (semi monthly) will be Dec 31 for pay period 12/18 - 12/26
However, it is now showing that the next payroll will be the period 12/11/23 - 12/26/23 when the prior pay period was 12/4 - 12/17/23.  The pay period should be 12/18/23 - 12/26/23.
Is this a problem?

Let me guide you on the actions you need to resolve incorrect pay schedules and help you set up your appropriate pay periods in QuickBooks Online. This way, you can keep your payroll data accurate and updated.

 

When modifying your pay schedules, you would need the assistance of our Payroll Care Team to have these changes applied when running employee's paychecks. Since Community is a public forum, we need to acquire sensitive information of your payroll account to help review the data. With that, I recommend contacting one of our support representatives to provide timely assistance of your concern. To do this:p

 

  1. In your QBO account, go to the Help icon and click the Search tab.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter the error message in the description box, and select Continue.
  4. Start a chat with a support expert.

 

In addition to this, you may want to modify your pay period and select or enter the correct ending date. Doing so will allow your schedule to show the appropriate pay period dates. Please see the attached screenshot below for reference.

Once ready, you can then create paychecks for your employees using their updated pay schedules. This way, you'll be able to report their payroll and tax info to the agencies timely.

Hello and thanks for your response! I did put the ending date in correctly. It is the pay period start date that is wrong. That I have no control of. I expected it would pick up the date from the end of the last pay period, but it did not. It may not be a problem, but thought I would ask.
