CO FAMLI making quarterly payments

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out when QB will make the quarterly payment for FAMLI in Colorado. I can see how the QB Payroll Service is pulling out the FAMLI employee and company amounts for every payroll cycle. But when will the actual payment be made to the State of Colorado?  I've filed my report on the Colorado FAMLI website so now they are waiting to receive the payment.  Any help will be much appreciated! Also, we use QB Premier Plus Edition 2023 (Desktop) and we use the QB Payroll Service.

Thank you!

CO FAMLI making quarterly payments

Hello there! It's nice to be of service to your first concern in the Community forum, @rheap. I'm delighted to provide you with details regarding the FAMLI quarterly payments.

For now, the pay & file for the State of Colorado is not available in QuickBooks Desktop. I advise periodically updating the tax table in the interim since pay & file might be accessible starting next week. The payroll tax table includes current, precise rates and computations for federal and supported state taxes, payroll tax forms, and e-file and e-pay options.

To download the latest tax table:

  1. Go to Employees, then select Get Payroll Updates.
  2. Select Download Entire Update, then click Update.

When you update the payroll tax table, you can also run into some errors; click on this link to see typical ones and how to fix them.

If you have further concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to us again. I'm always looking forward to helping you. Take care!

Hello @SirielJeaB

Do you have an update on when the new tax table will be available with the pay and file for the State of Colorado? The premium for FAMLI is due by the end of the month and I'm wondering if I'm going to have to cut a check to pay the premium. I really don't want to have to do that because QuickBooks has already deducted the money and is holding it but I also don't want our payment to be late.

Thank you,

Thank you for getting back to us, @rheap.

As of now, filing and paying Colorado Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) within QuickBooks Desktop aren't supported.

In the meantime, I suggest paying and filing your Colorado FAMLI manually outside QuickBooks.

Just in case you need help e-filing your federal tax forms and e-paying your federal taxes in the future, you can check out this article for more guidance: E-file and e-pay federal forms and taxes in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced.

Come back to this post if you have other concerns or follow-up questions about CO FAMLI. I'll be around to provide further assistance.
