Desktop Pro 2021 Enhanced Payroll

On Wednesday, 1/5/2022, I prepared our Friday, 1/7/2022 payroll for direct deposit--this is usual standard process. All 4 employees received their direct deposit today. All pay stubs printed are correctly dated 1/7/2022.  Oddly, Quickbooks shows a red exclamation point symbol on Pay Employees today and says today's payroll is overdue, as if I did not run the scheduled payroll. I have all available system updates.

Anyone else having a payroll issue today in the desktop pro plus 2021 verision?

I've tried to call Intuit support..... Call 1: they hung up on me.  Call 2: I was told I had the number that only supports online payroll, and referred to 2 different numbers for desktop payroll.  Call 3: Recorded message said the number (I was just given) is not in service.  Call 4:  Automated system said I could not be connected to an agent and the automated agent wanted to "send me some articles about how to use payroll".  Seriously WTF!?  Most horrible service.

This happens when, for different reasons, your payroll schedule didn't advance when you competed the payroll.

At the end of the create paychecks process, you'll get a window something like this:

Note the Do not advance option at the bottom of the window.  If it gets checked, or it defaults to being checked (not sure if that ever happens), then the payroll schedule doesn't advance. You might want to select this option, for example, if you pay one or some of the employees and want to return and pay the rest later.

It's easy to fix the schedule if it's behind - or ahead.  Start on the Pay Employees tab of the payroll center and click on the schedule that's wrong, and then open the drop list on the Payroll Schedules button and select Edit Schedule. Then enter the correct dates and save the schedule:
