I'll share some information about the changes in filing for the Nebraska Department of Labor.
The e-file/pay feature for the Nebraska Department of Labor has been disabled since they will be converting to a new online portal. Due to these changes, the electronic filing and payment systems will be temporarily unavailable.
In the meantime, you can turn off the automatic tax payments and form filings. Then file and pay directly at the agency's site. I'll show you how.
If you need additional information about the state agency, you can visit this article: Payroll Tax Compliance Links.
I'm also adding this resource to learn how to record your tax payments manually for future reference: Recording prior tax payments.
Please let me know if you have further questions about payroll tax filing and payments. I'll be around to help you.
I too have had these problems all year long. I am accountant and prepare payroll for a number of clients. The efile / pay feature hasn't been disabled so I didn't know of this issue until I read this comment.
The NDOL has received the tax payment but not the tax and wage filing.
Why didn't QB do something to proactively let us know that they were going to stop filing UI-11T & UI-11W reports?
Your message indicates that the systems will be temporarily unavailable... is there an estimated time when the systems will be available?
Thank you,
Eric
Hi Eric,
Thanks for joining the conversation. I would ask the same thing if I were in your situation, especially you cater many clients. I'll share some details with you.
Aside from the rejection notice at the time of payment, we've actually sent an email to affected users about the E-pay situation for Nebraska with an option to pay online. Please check your Trash and Spam folders to see if they're routed there.
On the other hand, we're unable to provide an ETA at the moment. But our engineering team is working to restore the normal e-payment process for Nebraska in QuickBooks.
I also want to include that you can check for payroll references on the main support page should you need them in the future. Just scroll down a bit and click More topics.
Don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions about E-file or E-pay. We'll be here to help.
I am sorry Jess, but your response doesn't make sense in my situation.
(1) We did not receive a rejection notice for the epay as Intuit apparently did submit the payments in all cases and the payments were received in all cases.
(2) QuickBooks indicates that NE UI 11T / UI 11W NE Combined Tax Report was accepted as per the QuickBooks Payroll: Tax Filings Archived. I have attached a PDF of that report. Intuit is being very misleading if it is as you indicated that Intuit hasn't been filing the NE Unemployment forms all year.
I am hoping for a little better answer than Eric, you missed all the cues from Intuit that they weren't filing the NE UI reports. Thank you.
Eric:
We are having the same issue with this. Nebraska Department of Labor is aware and feels that QB has a huge liability issue on their hands given that we were notified that the report and payment were filed timely and accepted, when in fact they have not been sent.
There is no projected "fix" date by QB. It's another dropped issue that they don't have any urgency to fix. I did not get a notice from QB; rather a late filing notice from Nebraska. That's the only way we found out about it.
Julie
Hey, @Eric Bremers.
