My last post was meant to reply to your post, but I guess I put it in the wrong place. My current fear is when will they announce that there will be no more Enterprise. QBO is NOT an option.
If only Intuit would read and acknowledge your comment that "QBO is NOT an option," but it's been made painfully plain that they do not care. They know it and they do not care. Even their own support reps have told me not to use their Quickbooks Online Accountant app as, in their words, "it doesn't work."
QBO is garbage -- an impossible piece of software; unreliable beyond words; poorly coded and full of bugs; with one of the worst UX/UI (user experience/user interface) ever designed. It fails the most basic requirements of online software rules and norms. It's overloaded with bloat and unnecessarily complex with tiers, levels and add-ons. It's full of annoying popups, requires countless clicks to perform simple tasks, and is a chore to use even on the most rudimentary level. It's garbage through and through. And yet greed-obsessed Intuit simply DOES NOT CARE.
I'm looking into other options now..
There are 3 cloud based accounting apps you may consider. You can convert your data to QB Desktop file and use the trial version to access your historical data for good. Then you will start from scratch in a new app to lower your conversion cost.
Absolutely!!
Been dealing with them for 10 years but no more!! There software is okay but if you ever have an issue their help is abysmal!! Had one year it glitched and put in a bazillion duplicate transactions I had to manually track down and remove - no help from support. I used to have a US credit card so had to upgrade to use that - it was always guessing at exchange and my books were always out. Once I got rid of the US credit card it wouldn't let me downgrade and I could not remove multi-currency option. Their help desk was useless. Spent hours trying to make work. Then they suggested I make a new account and port my transactions over. Wow - 8 hours on the phone and they realized their software doesn't export transactions properly - not even to themselves (online to online). I finally just gave up. I'm finally about to close that company and opened a new corporation. I went to sign up on their 75% off deal (the only way I would stay with them), and it was declining my payment method for some reason. Spent an hour with support and could not fix, and I had other appointments. I asked if I went back tomorrow to fix would it still give me the 75% off. They said yes I had already created the new account so I would get the deal. Logged in the next morning to fix - nope - no longer offering me the 75% off for 6 months. Called them on that, escalated to manager - nope won't homor their promises once again. Guys it's just not worth it!! Take your books anywhere else - I imlpore you!
Quickbooks is the worst vendor that I work with. I'm a business owner that has used QuickBooks for 13 years. I used the desktop version until about a month ago. They priced the desktop version extremely high, as a subscription, to force users to migrate to QB online. I was assured that my 13 years of data would upload properly and populate the online software.... this was a lie. Every deposit recorded for 13 years no longer shows the source of the revenue. That field is now grayed out. In an effort to correct this, I wasted three hours of my life on phone calls with customer service/tech support... Today, I tried again... I was assured that I could re-upload my data file and it would correct the problem. So, I foolishly believed the tech support supervisor named "Kyle". Not only did the upload not correct the problem, it erased all data entered for the last month and my 1099 prep... hours of work down the tubes. I called tech support again... they told me I can upload my data file but it would take 3 to 7 BUSINESS DAYS for a response. This is absolutely pathetic. My business is paralyzed without accounting software... I think a class action lawsuite is brewing...
Which QB Desktop year version do you have?
How do you like Sage??
Hi! I'm going to be switching software soon and wanted to know how you feel about Xero? Are you liking this so far? I'm okay with a cloud based program but if I'm going to need to learn a whole new program (QB Online) then I might as well go for a whole new program!! (Xero, NetSuite, Patriot, etc.)
I have 2020.
Xero is one of our 3 recommended apps if you are considering replacing QB. You can purchase a third-party conversion service if necessary. Another option, keep your historical data in QB Desktop and start from scratch in a new app to lower your conversion costs.
You can also use Melio to manage and pay your bills for free, and integrate it with Xero. You can get $100 cashback to pay your first bill.

Netsuite is simply a better choice if you use QBD Enterprise. You can also purchase a third-party conversion service and use Melio to pay your bills.
Patriot is another option but their 3rd party apps are very limited.
Any specific concern with your QBD 2020?
I'm sorry, but who are you? You stated, "Xero is one of the top 3 we recommend", but who is "we" exactly??
Click on my profile name and you will find who we are.
They were discontinuing bank feeds... which are critical.
QBD 2020 is outdated and the bank feature has disabled since June 2023. You can use an importer tool as the workaround and it's $199 one time license.

Otherwise, you may contact us in private and we can share another option to use the bank feed feature again.
We've been using the 5 user version for our small business and it's shockingly bad on search since the start of January. Tech are changing too much without having it properly tried and tested.
Used it for 4 years and now contemplating changing completely.
Gigabit fibre and still slow to refresh menus. Turning in to a horrible product and I was a huge supporter of it in the early days.
Worst move they made was stopping the desktop app.
We're an I.T. company that actually advocated some of our clients to get it!!! (The irony!) Now we'll be telling them to chose elsewhere.

You can still purchase QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus/Premier Plus and they will support it until May 2027.
I wish I'd read this thread before I upgraded to Quickbooks Pro 2024.
TERRIBLE customer service. I spoke with two representatives on two different days and spent over three hours on the phone with no resolution. Does AT&T own Intuit???? Their customer service is so similar.
The only decent QB support service I have ever received is with my current ENTERPRISE DESKTOP 24.0 version that I just signed on with this month. I had Premiere Desktop with no support to speak of and then I enrolled in QBO Advanced. The Advanced had more features than we needed, but only bought it for the "premium" support. It was awful!! Not only did the QBO version look and act NOTHING like my former desktop version the support techs were all from the lands beyond and could not understand my southern English nor could I understand them. I struggled for two weeks before investigating farther to find that the Enterprise DeskTop was still available. I switched over to it and everything is wonderful. The few times I needed support they all were very helpful and got me right on my way with zero language barriers. If you can afford it RUN to sign up for the Enterprise DeskTop.

How many of you experience multiple QB crashes in one day? I've been using QB since 1995 and wow the last 10 years the program crashes constantly with no fix especially if you use the bank feed feature, then it crashes every few minutes! LOL... What a joke. They are more concerned with bloating the software with junk that no one uses or cares about instead of creating a solid back end that focuses more on fixing all the problems the program has rather than adding more junk that causes more problems.
Do you use any of the bank feed features? If you do you will not like Enterprise as well. We've been using Enterprise for the last 10+ years and it sucks, crashes all the time because its bloated with JUNK.

Why don't you switch to a new program? You can use the trial version to access your historical data for good and start from scratch in a new program to lower your conversion costs.
