Does Quickbooks Payroll automatically send form 940/941 to the IRS?

QuickBooks Online Payroll Core, QBOP Premium, QBOP Elite - Tax filings depends on if you chose to have us pay and file your federal and state payroll taxes for you or if you opted to pay and file them yourself. If you aren’t sure, check your automatic tax payments and form filing status first.

1. Go to Taxes and select Payroll Tax.
2. Follow the on-screen steps to complete your tax filing.

If you're using QuickBooks Online Payroll Enhanced  follow these steps below to file your tax forms after you pay your taxes:

1. Go to Taxes and select Payroll Tax.
2. Select Quarterly forms or Annual forms.
3. Choose the form you want to file.
4. Review the form to verify the info, and Submit when you're ready.

To clarify, the automated tax payment and form filing feature is enabled by default. Hence, if you haven't turned it off, that means you let us handle it for you. 

Otherwise, we’ll let you know when your tax payments and form filings are due on your To-do list ao you'll know and ready to file your payroll taxes.
