Email from [email address removed] .... Scam????

This has happened with two desktop clients this month ... we process payroll, as usual, then receive an email from [email address removed] stating that "Intuit has completed your request to cancel your Payroll service" when no one has cancelled anything. Is this a scam?? If it's not a scam, why are we receiving this email when no one cancelled?

Email from [email address removed] .... Scam????

@ToyaJaye

Login to their CAMPS and check their license information. Chances are your client has contacted Support and they know their Primary Contact email address. Then someone uses that email address to try to scam your clients.

Email from [email address removed] .... Scam????

Here's the kicker, the email address these "cancel payroll services" are coming from are the same as the email address my payroll direct deposit receipts come from ... the handle is @payrollservices.intuit.com. I've checked the spelling and everything on both emails, they are the same. The clients don't do anything with Intuit on their own, they always come through us, so I know it wasn't them; plus they've both said they don't know anything about it.

Email from [email address removed] .... Scam????

The email is sent directly from Intuit.  The exact same email address as the one that sends the payroll confirmations.  NO - I really don't want to call. I hate calling Intuit!!!  This needs to be corrected by INTUIT.

I also received the email from the exact same address as my Direct Deposit confirmation email. This all started after I updated to QBD 2024.

So in addition to phasing out Quickbooks Desktop you have also cut the Customer Service hours.... Some of us actually work nights....

I am really not understanding the thinking here - not everyone can use QBO bc they do not have stable WiFi or Cell Service and we don't need Enterprise because I don't track inventory, department sales or have sales people.

So in addition to phasing out Quickbooks Desktop you have also cut the Payroll Customer Service hours for Desktop Customers ONLY - QBO has 24 hours access to CS. How does that work??? We pay a premium for Payroll service and because it is Desktop we no longer get the benefits we are paying for???

@BlondBookkeeperNM

How did you purchase your QBD 2024 license? By calling their sales team or through a reseller?

Email from [email address removed] .... Scam????

No, I have had an annual since they started doing that.  It just renews every year. I usually let it go on updating but since you now have to have 2024 installed by 6/30 or you are out I updated.

I have a feeling that email IS FROM INTUIT and this is to get you to call them to change to QBQ or QBE!!! All of a sudden I am getting sales emails and calls left and right.

Email from [email address removed] .... Scam????

Let me give you some details so you'll know when to contact our support team, BlondBookkeeperNM.

If you're using QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Basic, Enhanced, or Standard, our support team is available Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM Pacific Time. On the other hand, if you're using Assisted Payroll, our support team is available anytime and any day.

On top of this, QuickBooks plans to stop selling several versions to new U.S. subscribers only. This means existing Desktop Plus and Payroll subscribers can continue to renew their subscriptions after Sept. 30, 2024. Since you have the 2024 QuickBooks version, you'll still have until 2027 to use our payroll service. After that, we encourage you to consider using QuickBooks Online (QBO) for your payroll needs. QBO provides more benefits over QuickBooks Desktop like remote access, enhanced flexibility, and real-time collaboration.

To know more on how you can migrate the data from desktop to online, check out this handy update for details: QuickBooks Desktop To Stop Selling to New U.S. Subscribers.

Furthermore, I will give you a step-by-step process on how you can migrate your payroll data from QBO to QuickBooks Desktop, consider reading this article for reference: Move Your QuickBooks Desktop File To QuickBooks Online.

You can always post your comment below if you have further questions about payroll or anything else about the subscription. As always, we're here to get you covered.
