error on nys-45 form

Hello there, @vivianz1.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I’m here to help you get past the error message when filing NYS-45 Form in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

This message will only show if the filing period and quarter doesn’t match. Let’s verify the dates entered and quarter selected on the form by recreating it. Before doing that, make sure to get the latest tax table update.

Here’s how to pull up the form:
1.    Go to Employees from the top menu bar and select Payroll Center.
2.    From the Payroll Center page, click the File Forms tab.
3.    Disregard the saved or draft form created out of your first pull up of the NYS-45 Form.
4.    Select the NYS-45 and NYS-45-ATT  under the Form column and click Create Form.
5.    On the File Form pop-up, enter Start Date and End Date.
6.    Click OK.
7.    When the form opens, make sure that the Quarter 4 box is selected.
8.    Proceed with the process to file the form.

If you continue to get the same result after following the steps, I’d suggest you get in touch with our Payroll Support Team for further assistance. They have tools like screen-sharing that can help double check why it's giving you that error.

Here’s how to contact them:
1.    Go to https://payroll.intuit.com/support/contact/?infosrc=qs&service=16.
2.    Select the product you have a question about.
3.    Choose Payroll.
4.    Click the View Contact Info to get phone number.

Please let me know how it goes after contacting them. If you need anything else, feel free to post again or leave a comment below. I'm always here to help. Wishing you the best!

I am interested if you have resolved this. I am in the same error loop for one new hire in December. The dates abolutly match and override does nothing.

error on nys-45 form

Hi there, @Wallboard.

Thanks for checking us out here in the Community. I can share some information about this error on NYS-45 form.

Are you referring to the amounts which aren't overriding on the NYS-45 form? If so, and the return is for the 4th quarter, you'll be filing for the calendar year. Make sure to select the entire year date so QuickBooks will get the information automatically for the 4th quarter return.

However, if the issue persists, I'dsuggest reaching out to our Payroll Care Team. They have the necessary tools to check on your forms and verify on what's causing the issue.

To reach them:

1.    Go to https://payroll.intuit.com/support/contact/?infosrc=qs&service=16.
2.    Select the product you have a question about.
3.    Choose Payroll.
4.    Click the View Contact Info to get phone number.

Please let me know if there's anything else you need. I'll be around to provide further assistance. Have a great day!

error on nys-45 form

I contacted support and we worked together to resolve this issue.

Entering the entire year using create forms made this form work, and it did make it for the 4th quarter.

I was able to E-File and submit payment using my QB Payroll.

Thank you for your advice.

I appreciate the update that you've given, @Wallboard.

It's good to hear that you're able to successfully E-file your NYS-45 forms with no errors. Also, to keep your tax table updated, I'd suggest running a payroll update before processing a form or creating paychecks.

Please know that the Community has your back should you have any QuickBooks concern. Thank you and wishing you and your business continued success.

Due to the fact that this is the last Qtr of the year and it includes the NY-ATT form. Enter 1/1/18 to 12/31/18 and that error will disappear.
