every employee has a RED Triangle and I cannot run payroll

I cannot run payroll because there are red triangles on each employee.

It states that a payroll report was filed too early, I may have clicked to submit State Unemployment for 2nd quarter (?). How can I remove the red triangles and run payroll?

Good day, @Wendy115. The red triangle error means that the selected pay date you're trying to run is within your filing period, which you already filed for. This means you'll need to pick another pay date to proceed. I'll share more information below for other options.

To confirm if you filed your State Unemployment tax, go to the Filings section. Here's how:
  1. Go to the Taxes tab.
  2. Select Payroll Tax.
  3. Then, proceed to Filings.

If you see a payroll tax has been filed within your pay date range, you can Delete it. However, if you don't have the option to clear it, I suggest contacting QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll support to help you reverse your filing and run payroll.

Thank you very much for your response (I replied from the email, but don't see it here).

I can see the 1st quarter 2025 state unemployment report and it has Memo:Rejected - but I can't click anywhere that will delete it. 

I also went the Archives and could not delete it there either.

Can you suggest another way to delete the report that was posted too soon (I thought I was paying the tax not filing the report - darn)

Hello,

As I was unable to delete the report, required to remove the red warning triangles, I accessed the online chat.

It was not something that I would have been able to do after all. And my inquiry was pushed up to 2nd level diagnosis. It took most of an hour but they cleared the warnings and I was able to create the payroll checks. That got me back on track and filled with relief.
