Hi there, @rowdyglide

Welcome to the Community. I'll walk you through on how to bypass the SUI prompt so you can start using the payroll service.

All you have to do is to enter Applied For in the HI Employer Account Number field, then select 0.00% as its rate to complete the process of setting up your SUI.

Check out this link: Get started with QuickBooks Payroll. It also includes links to different topics to guide you in setting up your employees and prepare their paychecks.

Let me know if you have further questions. I'm always delighted to help you some more.

Typing in AppliedFor in the DOL# it does not work.  It will not let me save it.  What is the new work around?

Good day, @rjc979.

Thanks for following the steps above given by my colleague. I want to make sure you'll be able to run payroll successfully.

I've replicated the workaround here on my end and it also didn't work. With this, I recommend contacting our Customer Support Team to look into this further. They have tools like screen-sharing to be able to look at your account securely and provide reasons why such is happening.

To do so:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click the Help button.
  3. In the QuickBooks Assistance chatbox, select Talk to a human and choose I still need a human.
  4. Select Contact Us.

Additionally, here are some great resources for your reference for the upcoming year-end: This tells you the important tasks you'll need to complete.

Feel free to leave a comment below if you need further assistance in completing your payroll tasks. I'll appreciate the opportunity to help. Have a great day!

I’m here to share some insights about bypassing the request for the DOL number in QuickBooks Online (QBO), kk74.

In QBO, the option to avoid the request for the DOL number is unavailable. This will result in an error notice and will prevent you from saving it. In this case, I recommend contacting our Customer Support Team to investigate further. They have methods such as screen-sharing to securely check into your account and provide reasons why this is happening. Here's how it's done:

  1. Go to the Help icon.
  2. Click the Contact Us button.
  3. Enter your concern in the field, then hit Let's talk.
  4. Select either Start a chat or Get a call.
  5. Fill up all the information needed.
  6. Click Submit or Confirm my call.

Please know that if you're using the Plus, Essentials, or Simple Start QuickBooks, the support hours are from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PMMonday to Friday. Then 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Saturday. However, if you're using the Advanced version, you can contact us any time on any day.

I've also added an article that helps you file quarter tax forms: File quarterly tax forms.
