Thank you for joining the QuickBooks Community, allens. It would be best to check each of the payroll items to see if it reach the limit for taxes. If a limit was assigned to these items, that could be a reason why it's no longer being taken out. To view this, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the List tab, then select the Payroll Item List.
  2. Browse through each one of the tax items that are being affected and check the Limit column.

If you notice that there aren't any limits, yet the taxes are not being recorded, I recommend contacting the Payroll Support team. They have the resources to check your account in a secure environment and assist you. Here's how:

  1. Select F1 or go to the Help tab.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Enter a brief description of the issue.
  4. Choose the call back feature to connect with us.

Feel free to comment at any time if you need additional assistance. The Community is always here to help. Have a lovely weekend.

Hi Allen;

What you described usually means either you don't have a payroll subscription or that for some reason QuickBooks cannot validate your existing subscription.

Please review this knowledge base article:

Renew or reactivate your QuickBooks Desktop Payroll subscription

Hope this helps!
