I just spent an hour chatting with Intuit, but they were NO help. I want a report that lists my employees and the total number of hours that have with National Paid Leave EE. I ended up creating a report by myself, but have one other thing I want to do that I can't figure out.
I'm working on QB Desktop Enterprise Solutions 18. I ran a Payroll Detail Review then made a few changes:
1) Add column QTY
2) Filter Payroll Item for only National Paid Leave EE
This gives me a report listing all the employees that have received FFCRA pay, which weeks, how much and totals the amounts.
Is there a way to total the QTY column for each employee? That way I can see how close they are to the 80 hour limit for those with Covid-19.
Hello there, @JeanG,
I appreciate you for letting me know the changes you've made on the Payroll Detail Review report.
Currently, we're unable to total the Qty column for each employee in the said report. I've got two alternative methods to help achieve your goal.
First, I'd suggest exporting the report to Excel so you can manually calculate the total amounts under the Qty column. This way, you'll see how close they are to the 80 hour limit for those with COVID-19. I'll guide you how.
The screenshot below shows you the second to third steps. For your reference, check out this article: Exporting Reports To Excel From QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Here's a sample screenshot of the result:
The second option is to run the Payroll Item Detail report. Then, follow the same customization settings you've performed above. Here's what it looks like:
In the meantime, I recommend checking out this website to learn more about our product improvements: What's New. Just go to the QuickBooks Enterprise section. For the latest payroll news, visit this link: Updates.
Aside from the two payroll reports above, you can run and customize other ones in QBDT. These will help you manage payroll and keep track of your employee expenses. You can also memorize them for easy access in the future.
I'll be right here to help if you need anything else. Keep safe always.
Thank you Raymond. I knew I could export the report to Excel, but that is laborious to do every time I need the report. It ended up that a manager from Intuit called me and we came up with another solution.
Run the Payroll Item Detail
Modify report
add the column QTY to show the hours
filter Payroll Item to only National Paid Leave EE
Then to see the information by employee with total hours for each, change Total by button to Employee.
That makes just the report I was looking for. :)
