Has anyone been able to cancel the new Online Quickbooks payroll subscriptions without calling Intuit?

I have followed the steps to cancel the subscription which was never supposed to happen in the first place. At the last step, I get an error message rather than confirmation the subscription has been cancelled. I searched online and see that this is a common problem.

Has anyone been able to cancel the new Online Quickbooks payroll subscriptions without calling Intuit?

Hello there, @lorraine18. I'd like to address your concerns properly

Can you tell me the exact error message you've got? This helps me check more resources and provide you with correct information about the prompt message.

For now, we can use an incognito window. It allows you to browse without storing internet history and cookies. Follow these steps to bring up a private browser.

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

If this works, clearing the cache will help the browser to fetch the latest version of the webpage and faster browsing experience. Alternatively, you can use other supported browsers.

Also, make sure to complete these tasks to cancel your payroll subscription successfully:

  • Complete and process your final payroll
  • Print necessary payroll reports
  • Pay any outstanding tax deposits
  • Process and file any outstanding annual or quarterly forms

If you're unable to cancel the subscription, you can contact our Support Team to further check your subscription status. To contact them, you can log in to your QBO account. Then, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Help icon.
  2. Select or type Contact Support.

You can read through this article to see all the available payroll reports in QuickBooks: Run payroll reports

Let me know if you have further concerns with your payroll subscription lorraine18. Bye for now, and take care.

Capture.JPGPretty much an endless loop.  I tried incognito with no changes.

The 2nd screen shot was after opening incognito... as you can see it didn't help

Appreciate the screenshots, @lorraine18. I want to ensure you're able to cancel your payroll subscription.

Since the error message still prompts even after following the suggestion shared above, it's best to contact our Payroll Care Team. With the tools available for our support online, a specialist can securely pull up your account and cancel your subscription.

You can do so by following the steps provided by my colleague. To add, you'll want to reach out to our Customer Care Support tomorrow during business hours from 6 AM - 6 PM PT

While working with your account and payroll transactions, here are the most common articles to use as your guide: Help Articles for QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Know that you can always leave a reply below if there's anything else that I can help you with. I'll surely be around, ready to lend a hand. Stay safe!

The CHAT function took me 1 hour and 45 minutes and (3) reps to get to submitting request to cancel the payroll subscription but no confirmation from Intuit.

This is silly.  It should be such an easy task from within QBOnline Payroll; it is certainly easy to sign up for their service.  But what a bear and time sink trying to get out of it.  Especially annoying and frustrating when I didn't want this transition in the first place and had already called them to tell them NOT to convert us to the new platform.
