QuickBooks Payroll Tax Compliance works in all 50 states of the United states, except for U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico. I'm providing you with a chart that list the tax compliance links to all 50 states.

Are you considering adding Puerto Rico anytime soon and does the desktop version work? I am fully online and loving it. This will send me back to the old ways. No where during the process to add the service is this said.

I'm pleased to hear that you're loving the Online platform. I'll share some details about the supportability of Puerto Rico for our payroll services. 

Our Payroll Compliance Team and developers might be considering adding Puerto Rico to the list of supported states and territories. But for now, the payroll service only supports the 50 states and District of Columbia.  The same can be said for the Desktop version. 

Consider using the options provided by jecalderon above. Alternatively, you can check our App Store and look for an app that lets you process payroll for Puerto Rico in QuickBooks: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home

If you don't want to use a third-party app, then another option is to record the paychecks manually using journal entries.

I would also suggest sending feedback to our developers about adding Puerto Rico to the list of supported states. In QuickBooks, click the Gear icon then select Feedback. 

Our developers will review your inputs and might consider your idea and suggestions in the future.

Quickbooks Desktop let you process Payroll, create paychecks and run Payroll related reports. The only thing that is not offered is the Payroll tax returns preparation. 

The desktop version has Puerto Rico payroll tax tables for over a decade. That's why I haven't change to online version.  

Hi, but they discontinued this service for most versions and it;s kind of imposible to get a newer desktop version with the payroll service option. Let me know if you found it and provide a link. Thanks
