Hourly Pay Rate in Payroll Reports

Currently, we are unable to generate a Payroll Detail Report (or any other report) that shows the history of an employee's hourly pay rates. I can download most other details surrounding payroll history but being able to see the rate per hour for specific time periods would be really helpful to our team.

Hourly Pay Rate in Payroll Reports

It’s nice to see you in the Community, erinMo.

I recognize the importance of being able to see the history of an employee’s pay rate. This allows you to see the changes made to their wages.

The report you need is currently available in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll (Employee Pay Adjustments History). We’re continuously working to enhance the product’s features to ensure our customers have the best online experience. I suggest sending feedback about this feature directly to our product engineers. This way, they’ll know that adding the Employee Pay Adjustments History report to the online version is beneficial for your business.

Here’s how:

  1. Press the Gear icon in the upper right and choose Feedback under Profile.
  2. This will open a window where you can enter your suggestions.
  3. Make sure to enter your thoughts and ideas in the field box.
  4. Click Next to submit it.

Thank you, I have submitted the feedback form online as well. I've done this several times in the past though and have never heard back about any feedback so I was hopeful posting here may put it front of some other QB support eyes.

If we subscribe to the QB Payroll Online version, do we have access to the Desktop version for download?

Thanks for joining the discussion, @erimMo.

I can share some insights about our QuickBooks subscriptions and their differences.

Our our online and desktop versions of QuickBooks uses different database, and are completely separate platforms. If you but the online payroll subscription, it will not include desktop licenses for download.

Desktop versions of QuickBooks for Windows, works with the Desktop payroll plan. To review the difference of our services, see the following links below:

If you have further questions about our products, visit us again anytime. I'll be right here to discuss some insights with you. Have a nice day!

We would also love to see QB Online Payroll provide us with a report showing a history of our employee's rate of pay. It's crazy to pay this amount of $$ each month for the Online version and this report only be available to QB Desktop users.  Come on, Quickbooks.  Helps us out sooner than later. And yes, I've provided feedback already asking for the Employee Pay Adjustments History

This report is absolutely important and it makes no sense at all to consider it important enough to put in ONE platform of QB but not another.  As more and more switch to the Online version, this matters.

Why is there no report in quickbooks that lets you run a report to show the hourly rate on their paystubs for the pay period. This is required for workers comp issues and we do not have a report for Quickbooks Online to generate it.

Hello there,

We recognize that each company has unique needs. And I know how important and more convenient for you and your business to run a report that shows the hourly rate of the employee's paystubs for a specific pay period.

While the feature isn't available, I suggest submitting feedback within the QBO account. This way, it goes to our product developers to help improve your experience while utilizing the program.

To send feedback, follow the below steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  4. Then select Next to submit feedback.

To help you utilize the Reports feature, check out this article: Run reports in QuickBooks Online. And if you need help customizing, you can visit this article for information: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

If you have other concerns and questions about managing your QBO account, I'm always around to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success.

Hourly Pay Rate in Payroll Reports

I'm joining in this conversation in hopes that someone from Intuit sees this and actually does something about it.  It's absurd that I can't run a simple report showing an employees name and rate of pay. Simple. Easy Peasy. Right? Not! And it should be!!

Add Rate of Pay to some report somewhere!!

I can imagine your challenges with the absence of the rate of pay in the payroll reports, dw417. I appreciate you taking the time to bring this matter to my attention.

Being able to pull up a report where you can see the rate of pay is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online. Thus, I recommend sending feedback so that our team developer might be able to consider including it in the software. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and thank you for your contribution to helping us enhance our services.

Here's how to send it:

  1. Go to the Gear icon located in your top right corner.
  2. Under the Profile column, select Feedback
  3. Enter your idea in the provided field.
  4. Click Next to submit.

You can also track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

The comment section is always open for any suggestions or further concerns about QuickBooks. Rest assured that we're always here to help you.

I appreciate you taking the time to bring this matter to our attention, dw417.

I understand that it is crucial to have access to an employee's pay rate history to keep track of any changes made to their wages. The report you need is currently available in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll (Employee Pay Adjustments History). This report tracks changes to employee pay rates (only hourly, salary, bonus and commission items. To run this report, here's how:

  1. Go to Reports menu.
  2. Select Employees and Payroll.
  3. Select the Employee Pay Adjustments History.

In addition, QuickBooks Desktop offers a selection of payroll and employee reports that can help you manage payroll and keep track of employee expenses. You can also customize these reports to get the information you need.

Keep me posted on how it goes. If you have further questions about payroll reports in QBDT, please don't hesitate to comment below. I'll be glad to help. Take care always.

Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to see what user made the change

Thanks for chiming in this thread, @INR3. I'm here to share some information about this matter.

In QuickBooks Desktop, you can check the changes or adjustments made in your employee's hourly pay rates by accessing the Employee Pay Adjustments History report. However, if you want to identify the user responsible for the modifications, there are no available options for that.

I understand that it is useful to keep track of the users who have access to your accounts and any changes that they make. I will take note of this feedback to help improve our service. Additionally, if you have any product suggestions, you can send them directly to our software engineers to be considered for future updates. You can follow the steps below to submit one:

  1. Go to the Help menu, then select the Send Feedback Online.
  2. Select the Product Suggestion. A pop-up window displays.
  3. Enter your feedback suggestion.
  4. Click the Send Feedback button.

Furthermore, you can check out this article for more details about how to run, print, and customize other payroll reports in the program: Run payroll reports.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any queries while running payroll. Our esteemed Community is available round the clock to assist you in any way we can. Have a nice day!
