How can I change the pay period on a payroll check?

I can help you manage and modify the pay period on your payroll checks, Mike.

 

In QuickBooks Payroll, incorrect pay periods may appear on paychecks due to errors in payroll schedule, unscheduled payroll runs, or incorrect dates during paycheck creation. To help you modify them in your file, refer to these steps:

 

  1. Go to Payroll, and click on Employees.
  2. Choose an employee. Then, select Start or Edit from the Employment details.
  3. Under the Pay Schedule ▼ dropdown, select the pay schedule for the employee moving forward. Or, to create a new pay schedule, click + Add pay schedule.
  4. Fill out the appropriate fields. Then tap Save.
  5. Once done, review all information and hit Save.

 

If you want to edit the pay period, you must select or enter the correct pay period ending.
