Here's an article for additional insights: Notice 2020-65. It provides some needed guidance for employers wondering whether and how to comply with the employee payroll tax deferral.

The employee is not tax exempt as they still owe Federal income tax as well as All State taxes. They are ONLY allowed Deferral of Social Security and Medicare Sept through Dec 2020.
Additionally, They are Not exempt so the Employer portion of the Social Security and Medicare are still due at this time.
I need to be able to change the portion of Employee Social Security and Medicare to zero through the end of 2020 and IF it is not forgiven then I need to be able to Increase what they or preferable we pay for them in 2021 when the repayment is supposed to be made.
Hi sundogmedia.
Thanks for posting here. I understand how important it is to make sure your employees are set up correctly, here's a really helpful article you can check out, it goes into detail about the Employee Social Security deferral memorandum and also mentions the following:
We hope to provide an in-product solution to help you. Check back here for more information. Please do not add any new pay items to your payroll account for this purpose, as we would not be able to correctly defer the social security for your employees or provide the correct information on your payroll agency forms.
You can review the article here. If you have any other questions in the meantime, feel free to post here day or night. Thank you and have a nice evening.
