How do i change a class for a specific payroll liability?

Good day, @lisa119.

The option to use the Location tracking feature for payroll and link them to your classes is unavailable in QuickBooks. However, you can assign a class to each employee in the payroll settings to categorize your payroll data.

If you're using this workaround, let me walk you through the process of changing your class. This way, you can easily track your payroll liabilities. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Gear icon.
  2. Select Payroll Settings.
  3. Under the Preferences menu, choose Accounting.
  4. In the Classes section, select I use different classes for different employees and click on OK.
  5. Go to the Preferences - Employee Classes section, assign a class for each employee.
  6. Click on OK.

Once done, you can run reports by class so you can keep track of your payroll expense and such.
