How do I enter my new Connecticut Tax Registration ID which is now 12 digits, but the QBO interface only allows the previous 10 digit format.?

I'm here to help and answer your question about putting in state tax IDs, Ken.

I tried putting in a CT Registration Number in my payroll account and it let me add a 12-digit number. QBO accepts all these formats when typing in your tax ID; 1234567-000, 12345678-000, or 123456789-000

I would recommend logging in to your account in an incognito/private browsing session. This can help resolve any cache or browser-related issues that might have prevented you from putting in the new tax ID. Here are some steps you can follow:

  1. Open your browser and click on the three dots in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select "New Incognito Window" or "New Private Window" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Log in to your QBO account in the new window.

Additionally, you can try switching to other compatible browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge.

After that, return to the Payroll Settings window and check if you can now enter your tax ID.

If you are successful, switch back to your original browser and clear the cache.

It appears Intuit just fixed this in the past 24-hours after I reported to support.  It previously only accepted 10-digits.  Glad now resolved.

I guess the issue is acutally our Unemploye Insurance (UI) Regiration Number -- since we are currently non-liable, CT does not issue a Registration Number.  So we're getting stuck not able to file.
