I have some information about exporting payroll data. Currently, the option to export payroll data is unavailable. Though, some payroll information will be converted. Paychecks and liability payments will be exported as regular check.
Here's how to do it:
Learn more about the export limitation at this link: Limitations when you convert from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
If you need help with other tasks in QBDT, you can browse for specific topics here and look for responses that fit your concern.

2 questions: Why has this been made so difficult? With Intuit Online Payroll it was so easy to create an iif and load it into my QB Desktop. 2nd question - Why did my wife's busisness have to change from Intuit Online Payroll to QB Payroll while my business is still with Intuit? I want to put her back on Intuit. It's a much better system. Thank you.
Thanks for getting back here, nhm7777.
I'd like to share some details about the products you are using. QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop are both accounting software products. You have the option to add a payroll plan on top of your subscription. This way, when you create paychecks from the payroll plan, you don't have to export the data to the accounting section since the process is automatic.
For Intuit Online Payroll, this is a standalone service. If you want to get the payroll data added to an accounting software, you will need to export it. This is why the process is much easier than the other versions of QuickBooks.
Also, each product have different interface and we want to make sure that your data is entered correctly.
